Here is a great idea for craft time with the kids that will be fun to do the first time and will be a huge hit for many days to come. You and your kids can create place mats for the dinner table and get them laminated so your little ones can stay busy coloring while they’re waiting for you to get dinner on the table. Give them something fun to do and keep them from underfoot before dinner.
Begin with a piece of white paper large enough to serve as a placemat. Decorate the page with a simple border, leaving the majority of the page blank in the middle. Mom, you can write (or your kids can if they can write) a message along the top such as “What I Did Today” or “A Dinnertime Drawing.” This will inspire your kids to create a drawing of their day and provide conversation while you cook about what they did that day. Once you and your kids are satisfied with their placemats you can get them laminated at any printing store. Then your children can color away on their placemats each evening and they will wipe right off to be used again tomorrow.
