If you’re looking for something fun to do with some other mommies and their kids to keep busy this winter, why not host a get together that does some good while also being a great time. This is a pretty brutal winter in a lot of areas, with some large snow amounts and bitterly cold temps. Now is the perfect time to organize a small coat drive among your friends.
Host a luncheon or small party with appetizers and tell everyone to bring a new or gently used winter coat. Make sure each family brings as many coats as they are able to and that they bring coats for both adults and kids. Have a fun little party, let the kids all play together and be sure to teach the kids why you’re hosting this party and what these coats will mean to some children who don’t have warm coats to wear this winter. Put all the coats in boxes or bags and contact a charity that will be thrilled to get them and to pass them out to those in need. A coat drive is a wonderful reason to have a fun play date and a chance to do something good.
