Invest in Your Child’s Future This Christmas

I’m not going to be one of those Grinches who says that all Christmas gifts for kids should be practical and not frivolous. Christmas is a time to be able to make your kids’ dreams come true and make sure they get the things their hearts desire. But, along with all the toys and games you should make room for just ONE practical gift, if you haven’t already done so.

Your kids might not thank you now, but starting a college fund for your children is one of the best Christmas gifts they could ever receive. Grandparents love to sometimes give this gift so that mom and dad can stick to the “fun” stuff the kids want, the stuff that Santa doesn’t bring, of course. But, if your child’s grandparents aren’t in the picture or aren’t able to give this gift then mom and dad should most certainly see that it gets done. Setting up this account will also give family friends and relatives a place to give monetary gifts to your child for special occasions that will go to the great cause of your child’s college education. Someday your child will be very grateful that you invested in their future this way.

  1. this sounds like such a good idea.

  2. We’ve already been saving for our son’s college fund. It’s a slow, grueling process, but it’s nice to know that the money will be there when he’s ready for college.
