January Mommy Blogger of the Month

No Holding Back Blog

Our Mommy Blogger of the Month is Alexa, who writes No Holding Back! No Holding Back is a great blog where Alexa contemplates life after the loss of a twin daughter. She raises awareness for the little-known Twin-to-Twin Transfusion Syndrome (TTTS) and blogs about the general highs and lows of parenthood.

Personal Family Life

Raising a family is never easy, and coping with loss makes it even tougher. Luckily, Alexa fights through this with her wonderful kids, Nayner Bug, Jelly Bean, and Tiny. She also has a great husband to back her up.

Sometimes, Alexa’s blogs are thought-provoking. Sometimes, they’re funny. Sometimes, they’re just a little sad. Everything is relatable, and Alexa always focuses her messages on keeping your chin up, with a smile on your face and love in your heart.

Hugga Bugga Bracelets

Alexa’s most recent blog, a product review on Hugga Bugga Kids charm bracelets, is endearing to say the least. These cute little bracelets serve as a reminder to hug and love on your kids every day. It’s not like any of us need a reason to do this, but with our hectic lives and seemingly never-ending stress, it does help to have a reminder. These cute little bracelets come with 25 beads and a little moveable charm. The idea is that, each time you hug your child, you move the charm over a bead. By the end of the day, your goal is to have made it all the way around the bracelet.

All moms can get on-board with a cute piece of jewelry to keep a tally of hugs-per-day. Personally, I have 3 kids, just like Alexa. My plan is to order 3 bracelets, so I can keep a running tab of hugs-per-day, per kid!

Sandyhook Elementary Aftermath

In this blog, Alexa also touches on the topic of Sandyhook Elementary. She points out how easy it is to become overwhelmed with life’s little stresses, even though life can be short. I would go so far as to speculate the extra hugs could have helped us avoid such tragedies as Sandyhook Elementary. Every child needs to here, feel, see, and know they are loved. Certain mental illnesses and traumatic events that happen outside the home may not be under our control at all times, but we can always remember to show children love.

Thanks Alexa for your wonderful contribution for moms everywhere! We enjoy following your blog, and we love the insight you provide in each heartfelt work of written art. On your site, there truly is No Holding Back!
