Make Summer Drinks More Fun for the Kids With Fruity Ice Cubes

Parents are always looking for a way to add more fruit into their kids’ diets, and by creating fruity ice cubes it is easy to do just that. This is actually a fun little DIY project that can involve the kids if you would like and is very very easy. A simple way to get started is by either using small berries such as blackberries or raspberries and placing them into an ice cube tray. You then simply add the water and place the whole thing in the freezer as you would with normal ice cubes. The fruit will float and freeze in the center of the ice cube and will melt when it is used in a drink. It is also a fun idea to chop other fruits into small cubes such as apples, pears or strawberries. This allows you to mix and match the fruits in your cubes.
You can make the ice cubes even tastier by using fruit juice instead of water for example orange, grapefruit or any other citrus juice. When you use these frozen fruit ice cubes in a kids drink it may entice them to try new types of fruit. These fruity ice cubes can also be given a more fancy adult twist to be used in cocktails. Experiment a bit with various fruits and look into ways to make more complex ice cubes for specific drinks. It is a fun and healthy DIY project.
