Mother’ Day Present Ideas

mothers-dayEach year my husband asks me what I want for Mother’s Day and each year I say,“I don’t know.” I like surprises. I don’t like making a shopping list for my loved ones and just guessing what I got by the shape of the box and how it aligns with my wish list. But after a few instances of less then surprising surprises, I figured out that I am better off just spelling it out, you know? So this year I decided test out a few interesting present ideas for Mother’s Day to help out others that might be in the same position.

Raise your hand if you can benefit from a moment of zen in your day. One step to get there is to light a candle and become enveloped in its aromas to ease away your stress. Now if that candle could be flameless and safe around the kids without losing ambiance, then it is a win-win for all. If you add a stylish lamp or lantern to house that candle so it looks like a permanent decorative element in your room, then you basically just won the lottery. That’s where Candle Warmers comes in.Like their name suggests, they use a small light bulb to warm a flameless candle, which sits inside your choice of lantern. I opted for the Scroll Candle Warmer Lantern in white and paired it with an Escape to Paradise candle since it matches the style in our guest bedroom perfectly – plus any moment I can mentally transport myself to a beach makes mommy a happy person. Mix and match for your style and scent preference, and your Mother’s Day will be a peaceful one.

Are you more of a jewelry person? You can’t go wrong with jewelry when it comes to Mother’s Day, and if there is a company tugging on the heartstrings of moms everywhere, it is Isabella Grace with their personalized necklaces. A child’s name & birthday can be engraved, or if you prefer a little more subtle style, just the first initial will do. The Signature Initial Necklace works just fine for me, as I don’t need to advertise all our details around my neck. The charm part is brushed matte silver with an engraved 22kt gold letter. On the chain is a small pearl that hangs over the top of the charm, adding a perfect touch of femininity. The chain that comes with the necklace is a gold jumpring so the only change I would make it opting for something a little heavier because it feels so light around my neck. However, there are many styles to choose from on their website and moms will love the personal touch.

If a Mother’s Day present isn’t super important to you but it would be nice to get something small, check out UrbanHalo Headbands. Started by a stay-at-home mom and runner who went on the hunt for the perfect headband that was both fashionable and functional (and for headband-wearers, you know that means that it doesn’t slip and doesn’t give you a dreaded headache), UrbanHalo headbands retail between $10 for solid colors and go up to $20 for rhinestone decked-out designs. However, their Signature Styles are the ones that really stand out. Cute colors and patterns are printed on a soft (but not slippery) material. “Camping at Coachella,” “ Puddle Jumper,” and “Patina” are my favorite patterns because they add fun and colorful designs that I can use to keep my bangs back while working out or just to add a little style to my outfit for the day.

Whatever you get or do for Mother’s Day, may it be happy and most of all, filled with love!
