Party on a Budget

birthday-budgetMy daughter’s third birthday is coming up in three weeks and we are moving in two weeks.  With that being said, our budget is tight so I am trying to plan her party on a budget.

Here are my top ideas to plan your child’s party on a budget that I used last year for her Milk & Cookies second birthday.

  1. Invest in simple party trays and cute bottles for juices.  I have two 3-tier food stands from Target and I invested in cute little bottles that can be filled with whatever juice I want.   You throw in some cute straws and you just made your drinks a cute table accessory.
  2. Shop Dollar Tree or any 99-cent store for any party accessories you need.  You can find tablecloths, napkins, plates, silverware, etc.
  3. Another great find at Dollar Tree are the gift bags for the attendees.  You can also find great items in the dollar bins at Target and Wal-Mart.
  4. Whatever your theme is try to make as many decorations yourself.  Print Food labels, and banners.  Create the tissue paper burst decorations, and other ceiling accessories.  These can also be reused if you have the space to store them.  Some people even use them in kid’s room decorations.
  5. Keep the food simple and try to follow your theme with little details.  For example a Finding Nemo party would be perfect with goldfish and a cute little saying printed on cardstock sitting in front of the bowl of fishes.
  6. Make the cupcakes or dessert yourself. All you need is a piping bag and you can recreate a cupcake shop cupcake in a few simple steps.

These are all the tricks I will use to host my daughter’s perfect Frozen party on a budget.  Check back on my blog for the party details.

there is no reason to spend so much on a kid’s party, they will not know the difference but they will remember how much fun it was if you make it fun!

    • It’s so true but, these days you see parents competing all the time to have the biggest and best party. I fell for it my first time around and definitely learned my lesson.
